Cool Slideshow
I found this sideshow while I was browsing some of the sites I visit more or less daily. It has some pretty neat ideas.
It deals with the way the internet is revolutionizing the economy in which we live and the way it is evolving. Cool stuff!
and here is a link for those who don’t get the “all your base” reference.
Clouds after a storm
I haven’t updated this in a few days, I figured I would just throw a random picture up for an update. I have some more interesting stuff coming up in the next week or so though, so stay tuned.
This picture was hand held with my 35 f/1.8 on cloudy WB, hence the extreme orange glow from the sodium vapor lights.

Great Georgia Airshow
The Great Georgia Airshow was this past weekend in Peachtree City. They had some neat stuff there, including an A-10 Thunderbolt, an F-18 Hornet and an AV-8 Harrier. They also had the Golden Knights, the Army’s parachute team there to put on a show. We got to watch the F-18 do a Mach .98 pass over the runway. This is really neat because as you see the plane with the Prandtl-Glauert disk of condensation. This effect also causes the condensation over the wings during aggressive maneuvering. Its also a little weird to see a plane going by that fast and at the same time hear…Nothing! for about five seconds that is… then the sound hits you. Here are some photos I shot, all were with my 55-200. Camera was set to ISO 400 to keep shutter speeds up, Metering was set to spot for some of the areal shots.

A-10 Thunderbolt. Condensation is forming on the wings.

Golden Knights, the Army's Parachute team.

F-18 taking off. Note the afterburners and the fire on the runway.

F-18 Performing a high-speed turn.

F-18 Approaching Mach 1 (A bit over 700 MPH).

Plane performing aerobatics. This thing was a lot of fun to watch!

AV-8 Harrier hovering over the runway.
Nikon D3s
Nikon just announced the D3s. This can now shoot video and has a maximum ISO rating of 102,400! I remember when ISO 3200 T-Max was considered blisteringly fast. Shooting action indoors without a flash used to be somewhat of a challenge, but with this new D3s and a 50mm f/1.4 lens its approaching the realm of night vision.
Lt. Dan M. Berschinski
This weekend I stopped by to see the ride for Lt. Dan Berschinski, an Army Lieutenant from my hometown and graduate of my high school. Lt. Berschinski lost both of his legs from an IED in Afghanistan on August of this year. There was a motorcycle ride to show support for him. There is a website to show support and donate here.

Fall Break
My college fall break starts this weekend, hopefully I will be able to make it out to Yosemite National park for some camping, and to climb half dome at night to watch the sunrise over the park. We will see.
Update: flights didn’t work out, so ill be doing something a little more local. I will definitely try to go again next year though.
Pelican 1200 Case Review
I just wrote up a review on my Pelican 1200 case I just got here. This includes my thoughts on the case and its use to me so far.
